Overview
ISKCON Juhu, officially Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple, was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1978. It is part of the global ISKCON movement and sits on 4 acres of land near Juhu Beach. The temple complex includes marble deities of Radha-Krishna, Gaura-Nitai, and Sita-Ram-Lakshman-Hanuman. Known for its daily aartis, kirtans, and Bhagavad Gita classes, it attracts thousands of devotees and tourists. The temple runs a popular Govinda’s restaurant and a guest house for pilgrims. Janmashtami here is celebrated with grandeur, with lakhs visiting for darshan and cultural programs. ISKCON Juhu also runs food-for-life programs, serving free prasadam to the needy. The white marble architecture with domes and carved pillars stands out in suburban Mumbai. It plays a major role in spreading Krishna consciousness in India and abroad. The temple blends spirituality, community service, and Vedic culture in a modern urban setting.
